Straps For The 40mm Apple Watch SE And Series 4 To 6

The 40mm case is the smaller size of the Series 4, Series 5, Series 6 and every Apple Watch SE. Most of our customers with a 40mm watch own an SE, and Apple Watch SE straps in 40mm are exactly the same as the Series 4 to 6 ones, so any strap in this collection fits any of those watches, from the first SE to the SE 3.

Does a 40mm Apple Watch band fit a 41mm or 42mm watch?

It depends on the 42mm. The smaller strap size has stayed the same for years, so a 40mm Apple Watch band also fits:

  • 38mm case
  • 41mm cases
  • the 42mm case of Series 10, 11 and 12

It does not fit the 42mm Series 1, 2 or 3, which took the larger strap. If in doubt, check the back of your watch for the case size and model.

Is the 40mm strap the same for every Apple Watch SE?

Yes. The first SE, the second-generation SE and the SE 3 all take the same 40mm strap (or the same 44mm strap, for the larger case). An Apple Watch strap for an SE 40mm will fit whichever SE you have.

Can I use a regular 40mm watch strap on an Apple Watch?

It depends what you mean by "regular". Traditional watches are sized by lug width (usually 16mm to 24mm), so a regular 40mm strap doesn't exist for them. A "40mm watch strap" for an Apple Watch means one made for the 40mm case, and everything in this collection is indeed made for it.

Are these Apple's own bands?
